Everton manager David Moyes will share the same hopes as all fans in wanting to see some signings walk through the doors at Finch Farm.
The opening week of the window is now in the books and Everton do not appear to be any closer to adding any new players.
One positive has come through recalling Harrison Armstrong who really impressed Moyes on Wednesday evening against Wolves.
As good as Armstrong was, the reality is Everton are going to need a lot more adding to their squad if they are going to achieve anything other than a stuttering end to the season.
Moyes does have some huge players missing from the Everton squad due to a variety of different reasons, but new signings are still needed.
A fresh update on a potential January exit may now hint towards some positive news, with Everton surely unable to allow a departure without a replacement in line.

Everton receiving interest in Nathan Patterson once again
Over the summer, outcast Nathan Patterson was set for a move to Sevilla before the deal fell through on the Spanish side’s end.
It appears as if they are now ready to return to the table with a short-term loan proposal.
According to Sky Sports, Everton would consider allowing Patterson to leave in the January window on loan.
What should Everton do with Nathan Patterson in January after his display vs Forest? 👏
It is claimed that the Blues will not allow any move until after the Africa Cup of Nations is wrapped up, though.
Sevilla are not the only interested side, with Bologna and Lazio also keeping tabs from Italy.
Patterson could start against Sunderland at the weekend on the back of Michael Keane’s red card picked up against Wolves.
However, the damage is probably already done on Merseyside for the Scot, who has been unable to uproot centre-back Jake O’Brien from the spot at right-back.
But the report could lead to something being in the works on the incoming side for Everton.
Everton surely have a replacement in mind for Patterson
Moyes has made no secret of admitting Everton are short of players at the moment and surely no exit could be sanctioned without a direct replacement.
Everton are not in a position to be allowing their only fit, senior right-back to leave the club without another option at hand for Moyes.
Is there a better-suited right-back currently out there for Everton? 🤩
He could give Everton exactly what they need…
Vitinho is a target for Everton as the Blues have already begun work on a potential right-back addition.
It has also been suggested that Vanderson’s agents have offered him to Everton as some clear options have opened up for Everton.
Given the lack of options available for Moyes, it would feel like an unnecessary risk for the Toffees to take in allowing Patterson to leave just so he can pick up more minutes.
