England defeated the Republic of Ireland 5-0 at Wembley on Sunday evening.
Everton shot-stopper Jordan Pickford starred in England’s thumping victory, as five different players got on the scoresheet.
Harry Kane, Anthony Gordon, Conor Gallagher, Jarrod Bowen and Taylor Harwood-Bellis all netted for The Three Lions.
It ended a short but sweet reign for Lee Carsley, who will now return to work with the under-21s set-up, with Thomas Tuchel taking over in January.
Pickford, who’s been a key figure under Carsley, reacted to his England departure on Instagram after the game.

Jordan Pickford hails Lee Carsley
Everton shot-stopper Jordan Pickford took to Instagram after the Wembley win to hail Carsley and his staff for the last two camps, which he admitted were ‘class’.
The 30-year-old wrote: “Great win to sign off 2024 @england, boshhh 🏴 Thank you for all your support this year through thick and thin!
“Been class to work with the gaffer & the staff over the last two camps. Now we move onto a new era in 2025.”
Pickford continued his good form for Everton into an England shirt this month, as he picked up back-to-back clean sheets against Greece and the Republic of Ireland.
Now, attention turns back towards The Toffees.
Pickford set for a busy period with Everton
Pickford now travels back to Merseyside ahead of Everton’s clash against high-flying Brentford at Goodison Park on Saturday.

The games will start to come thick and fast for Sean Dyche’s men, who are currently languishing just above the relegation zone.
If Dyche fails to turn results around, The Friedkin Group could replace him with David Moyes until the end of the season.
