Everton have the opportunity to snag themselves a real bargain in the January transfer window.

David Moyes needs new signings at Everton after being set the target of keeping the Toffees afloat over the remaining games of the term.

It seems Everton will no longer be signing Ernest Nuamah from Lyon with the winger set to stay put in France.

But it is not just in attack where Everton are looking to strengthen their options.

The Friedkin Group want to sign a midfielder for Everton before the window shuts despite James Garner and Tim Iroegbunam making their returns from injury.

And there is one player who could become a real option for the Toffees over the coming days.

Juventus prioritise selling Everton target Arthur Melo

Arthur Melo’s agent has shared his desire to move before the window shuts early next month.

It has been a difficult season for Arthur following a really impressive season on loan with Fiorentina last term.

According to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Juventus have now made the Brazilian midfielder their number one player to sell.

The Serie A giants have made three additions to their side this month and are looking to make some player sales.

Everton showed interest in Arthur during the summer transfer window when Sean Dyche was still in the dugout.

Arguably, midfield is one of the positions where Everton may consider themselves at their strongest following the recent injury boosts.

However, Arthur is not the only option on the radar with Everton discussing a move for Chelsea’s Carney Chukwuemeka.

Arthur Melo could prove a real bargain for David Moyes

Having previously been sold for £73m, landing Arthur in this January window could prove a real coup for Moyes.

Everton are battling Real Betis for Arthur this month.

The midfielder really impressed last season with Fiorentina following his torrid spell at Liverpool which was curtailed by injury.

Speaking to the Liverpool website, Jurgen Klopp labeled the 28-year-old as an ‘exciting’ option during his time on Merseyside.

His return to Turin may have seen his stock plummet with Thiago Motta not using the midfielder after exiling him from the squad.

With Motta keen to offload the midfielder, it proposes a real potential bargain for any club interested.
