Everton have now been handed the latest instalment in the ongoing transfer saga involving Ernest Nuamah.
David Moyes is still waiting to see his first signing come through the doors at Finch Farm since making his return.
The mood around Everton has taken an upwards turn over recent days following the victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
However, the clock is now ticking for the Friedkins to deliver the two signings they targeted at the start of the winter window.
One of the positions which Everton were keen to address was with a new forward and there’s just been a major update on the pursuit of Nuamah.

Ernest Nuamah set to snub Everton and stay at Lyon
Everton have been seriously keen to sign Nuamah this month with talks having been held with the 21-year-old and Lyon.
However, a significant update was shared on Friday evening which Everton fans will not want to hear.
According to Sky Sports, Nuamah is now ‘likely’ to remain at Lyon until the end of the season.
Everton are now set to weigh up their other transfer targets before the deadline in just over one week’s time.
It was claimed Nuamah had approved a move to Everton, but it seems as if the talks have not advanced over the last week.
With goals having been such a major issue for Everton this season, Kevin Thelwell are going to have to act decisively.
What David Moyes said about Ernest Nuamah
Moyes shared Everton’s interest in Nuamah during last week’s press conference.
And speaking in Friday’s talk with the media, Moyes once again name dropped the Lyon winger, just hours before the update emerged.
“Well the last part with the player you said [Nuamah], he’s never played in the Premier League before. He’s never been here, you’ve got to weigh that up,” said Moyes.
“That all adds in to one days you go: ‘yeah, that’s good’ and then another day you think: ‘no, maybe not’. So it’s the deliberating and we’re pretty ready for what we’re going to do.”
Jake O’Brien spoke about a potential reunion with Nuamah earlier in the week but that now seems to be off the cards.
