Everton are in the market for a wide player and that was even before the Jack Grealish injury news.

With Jack Grealish out for up to three months, Everton are expected to ramp up their efforts to sign a winger.

The Toffees are considering a deal to sign Harry Wilson, but the indication is that he’d rather wait until the summer to move.

How good of a signing would this be for Everton? 👀

Now, Fabrizio Romano has just suggested that Everton may have been trying to push through a deal for a winger on the continent ahead of Galatasaray.

Everton may have been trying to push through deal for Noa Lang

It was reported last week that Everton were weighing up a move to sign Noa Lang from Serie A champions Napoli.

Lang is now close to joining Galatasaray, although Fabrizio Romano has just hinted that the Toffees may have been really trying to land his signature over the last couple of days.

“Galatasaray have accepted Napoli’s request. Napoli wanted €30 million, while Galatasaray were initially asking to pay €26–27 million.

“Clearly, the presence of English clubs played a role, and from what I’m told it wasn’t Fulham but another team that pushed for Noa Lang – we’ll maybe talk about that in the coming days.

“At that point, Galatasaray realised they were at risk of losing the player and chose to accept the terms proposed by Napoli.”

So, it looks as though Everton may have been close to signing the Netherlands international until Galatasaray agreed to pay Napoli’s asking price of £26m.

Everton could turn to Patrick Wimmer

With the Lang deal now off the table, Everton could turn to Patrick Wimmer, who has been impressing at Wolfsburg.

It has been reported that Everton and Fulham have been showing the most interest in Wimmer after registering nine goal involvements for the Bundesliga outfit.

Who would be your dream Everton signing this month? 👀

Everton target Ivan Toney

The 24-year-old has been likened to Marco Reus, so if he’s half as good as the former Germany international, that’d be a really good bit of business from the Toffees.

Wimmer is a lightning-fast wide player who would offer something a bit different to what Moyes currently has.
