The pressure is beginning to mount on Sean Dyche at Everton.
Saturday’s defeat to Southampton means the Toffees are now only four points clear of the bottom three and the loss has even led to some calls for Dyche to be sacked.
The former Burnley boss has been at Goodison Park since January 2022 and is coming up to his third year in charge of the club, however with his contract expiring at the end of the season, and Graeme Bailey exclusively telling Everton.News that the Friedkin Group will move him on regardless, possible replacements are already being touted.
With that, we’re taking a look at five managers who could replace Dyche if the Friedkin Group decides to pull the trigger.
Maurizio Sarri

The former Napoli, Chelsea, and Lazio boss has been heavily linked with the managerial role at Everton.
Reports in October even claimed that the Italian had already told the Friedkin Group who his first signing would be.
Corriere dello Sport has suggested that Sarri is Dan Friedkin’s number one target due to his high-profile status which could help fast-track the project he has in store for the Blues.
Gareth Southgate

Any job for Gareth Southgate will be a big one and at Everton, he would have a difficult task ahead of him.
Similarly to the circumstances he first inherited as England manager, Southgate would need to bring the feel-good factor and connection back between the fans and the players.
Tactically, there wouldn’t be a big difference between the former Three Lions boss and Dyche, meaning that it may be a move that they don’t consider given that they would ideally look for a fresh idea.
He brings pedigree and experience at the highest level and also knows how to win over the fans, even if they aren’t always on his side.
David Moyes

They always say never go back but in this case, David Moyes may be the perfect fit.
Everton have lost their identity over the years and there’s not anybody who epitomises what this club is about more than Moyes.
Four years ago he admitted to having regrets leaving Goodison Park for the Manchester United job as he wanted more time to finish his project at Everton.
His career has been a rollercoaster, to say the least, but knows how to get teams to function and even won West Ham United the Conference League.
The fans want him back and if the prospective new owners want to get off to a positive start with the supporters, that would be a move that makes them very popular.
Des Buckingham

A rogue shout here, but Des Buckingham is one of the most exciting young managers in the country.
You might look at the Championship table and see his Oxford United side towards the bottom but with the budget he’s had and the transformation in such a short space of time, it’s hard not to be impressed.
At 39, Buckingham would join the list of young, talented managers getting their crack at the big time.
He’s used to winning silverware from his time in India and if the club fancy a long-term project, Buckingham would be someone to invest time and patience in.
Graham Potter

The man that everyone wants.
It feels like whenever a manager is under pressure or one is being linked with a move away, Graham Potter comes up in the conversation.
His time at Chelsea hasn’t damaged his reputation and he is still regarded as one of the best British coaches out there.
The style of play would be far more front-foot and exciting, something that Everton supporters are craving for.
Potter would also switch to a possession-based style of play, something they currently struggle with and are the worst in the league at according to the stats.
He would get supporters excited but with potentially more attractive jobs on offer, Potter may prefer another move elsewhere.
