Everton are making a habit of leaving things late with Jake O’Brien scoring a late equaliser against Brentford.
After going behind in the first half, it was a real moment of quality shown by the Ireland international with a diving header.
Ironically, it was a moment of magic for a defender which provided the equaliser after a night to forget for the in-form striker, Beto.
Nevertheless, David Moyes will be pleased to see Everton’s unbeaten run in the Premier League extended to seven games.
Moyes was left frustrated with Jack Harrison’s delivery at times during the game, with one corner really irking the 61-year-old.
But it is something which Brentford manager Thomas Frank said which will leave many baffled following the game.

Thomas Frank said Everton did not create much against Brentford
Coming into the game, Thomas Frank praised Everton for their recent upturn in form which David Moyes has provided on Merseyside.
It was a frustrating night for both managers who have come away from the game in west London feeling their sides could have taken all three points.
However, there is something which Frank said after the game which will confuse a number of Everton fans.
“I actually think we controlled Everton very well. I don’t think they had anything, except three one-on-ones, and I know it sounds a little bit crazy, but one is a clear Ethan [Pinnock] slip, another one is a big mistake for us and then the end,” said Frank.
“Mark Flekken was fantastic in many, many ways this season, but they were three big saves!”
O’Brien scored the equaliser for Everton, with Beto’s recent run of fine form coming to an end in front of goal.
But to suggest Everton did not create many clear-cut opportunities does not quite add up as Frank also praised the performance of his goalkeeper.
Beto will be practising his shooting in warm-weather training
Everton will not enjoy warm-weather training in the United Arab Emirates with over a week until their next game in the Premier League.
And it is clear what Beto will be practising in the Middle East.
Everton fans were frustrated with Beto’s performance, but he has plenty of credit in the bank following his recent run of form.
- 90 minutes played
- 2 big chances missed
- 30 touches
- 65% pass accuracy
There have been some really promising signs from Beto in front of goal under Moyes and fans will be hoping to see the striker bounce back in style next weekend.
