Fresh Ernest Nuamah transfer update at Everton, and it’s not what fans want to hear

Everton are looking to make Ernest Nuamah their first signing under The Friedkin Group’s ownership.

There has been some considerable change made on Merseyside over the last month.

Alongside the Everton takeover, the Friedkins have now made a managerial change to bring in David Moyes as Sean Dyche’s replacement.

However, the Toffees are yet to see any new faces come through the door in the January transfer market.

The Friedkins are keen to make two signings this month and there is one player who they are keen to add, in particular.

But a deal may not be quite as advanced as what has been suggested.

Ernest Nuamah fee not yet agreed at Everton

Everton are keen to sign Ernest Nuamah from Lyon before the January window shuts to bolster their attacking options.

And on Thursday night, it had been suggested that a fee had been agreed for the winger.

However, taking to social media on Friday morning, Alan Myers has shot down that suggestion claiming he has not heard it to be the case.

‘Not aware of that myself,’ he simply replied to the suggestion.

What Myers did suggest on Thursday was Nuamah is now keen to sign for Everton, but the teams still need to find an agreement.

It may not be the news which Everton fans wanted to wake up to this morning, but there is still plenty of time for a deal to be struck.

David Moyes wants Everton signings made quickly

Following the defeat to Aston Villa on Wednesday night, Moyes did not shy away from making it clear he required new players.

“I think it’s really important if we can add some of that quality and give the players a little lift as well,” he said.

Wednesday’s defeat showed their weaknesses with Everton fans criticising Dominic Calvert-Lewin for his poor display.

It is now looking unlikely a deal would be possible to be done in time for Nuamah to play on the weekend against Tottenham Hotspur.

But Everton fans – and Moyes – will be hoping to see the Ghanaian winger on Merseyside in time for the next game against Brighton & Hove Albion.
