Everton fans have just one thing to say about Dominic Calvert-Lewin after his Aston Villa display

Everton fans suffered another defeat on Wednesday night when Ollie Watkins sealed the points for Aston Villa.

Once again, Everton failed to find the back of the net as David Moyes was welcomed to the same issues which Sean Dyche endured.

Wednesday night offered fans their first insight as to how Moyes could set Everton out in the coming weeks with some big decisions being made.

Moyes is expected to give Beto another opportunity at Everton as his future remains in doubt, but he did not start against Villa.

The Toffees did have their opportunities, though, and some fans were left furious with some of the chances missed.

Everton fans unimpressed by Dominic Calvert-Lewin

During this January window, Dominic Calvert-Lewin has received interest from abroad as his contract dwindles down.

Yet, he was given the nod on Wednesday night as Moyes’ starting striker to face Villa.

Everton fans were left furious with Calvert-Lewin as the striker missed a huge opportunity to salvage a draw late on in the game.

One Everton fan, @markhay04, was stunned by the striker’s misses, saying: ‘Two absolute sitters from Calvert Lewin there’. Whilst @miketaylor2708 added: ‘Criminal miss at the end from Calvert Lewin. Those types of misses are what get you relegated.’

Fans were frustrated with the miss, @Danthedon1878 said: ‘Calvert-Lewin will relegate us you know’. And another fan @austinrathe shared his thoughts on a new deal for the striker: ‘If Dominic Calvert Lewin thinks he is going to get some mega contract from another Premier League team, he’s delusional.’

This sentiment was echoed by @terrymcallister: ‘Dominic Calvert-Lewin thinks he’s worth £150K a week by the way.’ And @burnsa1997 also said: ‘Big decisions need to be made on Calvert-Lewin & Doucoure’.

Moyes warned Calvert-Lewin about improving his displays ahead of the game, instead, he squandered a golden opportunity.

But for a player who is playing for a new deal – either at Everton or elsewhere – he is failing to do himself any favours.

With Everton searching for a point, the 27-year-old lasted the full 90 minutes for the Toffees.

His huge opportunity came in the dying seconds of the game with the striker stuck on two goals for the season.

Leon Osman expects Moyes to keep Calvert-Lewin this month, but his spot in the starting XI surely will be questioned.

It is a quick turnaround for the Toffees as they welcome Tottenham Hotspur on the weekend who are coming into the game on the back of a North London Derby loss.
