How Beto has reacted at Everton after Leeds United register summer interest

Everton are in desperate need of adding some real quality to their attacking lineup this summer.

It has been a turbulent campaign for the Toffees which has been salvaged following the appointment of David Moyes in January.

After a stunning start under the 62-year-old, some of Everton’s issues have reared their ugly heads again in recent weeks.

Beto was praised by Owen Hargreaves for how well he took his goal at the weekend against Ipswich Town.

But that was the striker’s first goal in 10 games which simply is not good enough for where the Friedkins are aspiring to be.

Leeds United have registered their interest in Beto ahead of the summer following their promotion back to the top flight.

Speaking to Everton News, TBR Football’s Chief Correspondent Graeme Bailey has shared his understanding on Beto’s stance over his future.

Beto could leave Everton this summer

Everton have made signing a new striker a priority in what is going to be The Friedkin Group’s first real opportunity to change the squad.

Questions still remain over the future of Dominic Calvert-Lewin but he is not the only striker potentially set to depart.

With Leeds United’s interest now shared, Bailey has told Everton News that Beto is aware the club could look to offload him this summer.

“Beto is aware that Everton are looking at other options, Richarlison etc, so he believes it is a thing that he could be available and he is one who Leeds have enquired about,” he said.

Beto was linked with a January exit following strong interest coming from Serie A for the 26-year-old striker.

The last 10 games with a return of just one goal will not have helped Beto’s case if he is looking to remain on Merseyside for next season.

Everton need a reliable forward and his recent barren run has put his early form under Moyes under real scrutiny.

Everton could replace Beto with Richarlison

Heading into the transfer window, Everton are keen to bring Richarlison back to Merseyside.

It is expected the Brazilian will be on the move this summer following three tricky years in north London with Tottenham Hotspur.

The Friedkins would like to make a statement signing for Everton and they are aware of how Richarlison is viewed by a lot of the fans.

But there will also be some questioning whether the 27-year-old would prove any more reliable than their current options.

Ironically, Leeds are also keen on Richarlison as the two clubs seem to share a number of the same targets.
