Everton fans will be desperate to see Iliman Ndiaye back on Merseyside following the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Senegal international will be playing in the semi final for his nation against Egypt on Thursday in the hope of a place in the AFCON final.

David Moyes will just be hoping to see his winger return to Finch Farm without any injury issues.

Given the January transfer window has not provided any new faces for Everton, having Ndiaye back available will almost be like a new signing.

Ndiaye had suffered a suspected injury with Senegal, but he has been able to return to action without any long-term problems.

With the winger expected to be back on Merseyside in the coming weeks, the 25-year-old has commented on his hopes for the future.

Iliman Ndiaye drops clue over his Everton future

Given the calibre of the player, there are believed to be some concerns at Everton over Ndiaye’s future ahead of the summer window.

The Senegal international has been linked with some big European clubs over recent months following his impressive displays on Merseyside.

Speaking to the Everton website, Ndiaye has now shared his hopes for the future with Everton, which will offer fans some optimism ahead of the summer.

“I was always very keen to stay here and be part of this new chapter for Everton,” he said.

“As I always say, if there are rumours or interest and things like that, it must mean you’re doing something right, right?!

“I am really happy to be at this club and be part of a new project with the new stadium, new ownership.
“It feels like a new adventure for all of us.

“I want to achieve things with Everton, I want to win trophies, which the Club hasn’t seen for too long, and things like that. It’s an aim for us to work towards.”

Fabrizio Romano is expecting interest in Ndiaye during the summer given just how well he has played for the Blues under Moyes.

However, to hear the winger share his hopes of winning silverware on Merseyside should fill fans with a lot of hope for the future.

Everton must match Iliman Ndiaye’s ambition

No secret has been made of Moyes pushing Everton to qualify for Europe this season, with a number of players also sharing that target.

Having Ndiaye back later this month will certainly be a boost for the Blues, but more players of his calibre will be required.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has been an impressive addition for Everton over the summer and the Toffees will need to replicate that transfer success.

Although Ndiaye is keen to remain on Merseyside, it is essential for Everton to show the winger they mean business with the addition of some further top-class players.

If the 25-year-old continues to play at this level then it will surely only be a matter of time before he is demanding European football.
