Everton may have just seen their interest in signing Evan Ferguson scuppered by another transfer elsewhere.

Although there were no issues on Sunday against Tottenham Hotspur, Everton have mad major problems finding the back of the net this season.

Everton have shown an interest in Evan Ferguson with Brighton & Hove Albion considering a potential deal this month.

But it is not a move which will be straightforward for David Moyes’ side to pull off.

And there may now have been a development at Everton’s relegation rivals Ipswich Town which may have ruined their chances of landing Ferguson.

Everton’s Evan Ferguson interest may be scuppered by Ipswich Town’s deal for Enciso

Everton are keen to sign a new forward before the window shuts in just over a week’s time.

But it is not proving easy with Moyes still awaiting his first signing coming through the doors at Finch Farm.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Ipswich Town are about to secure the loan signing of Brighton attacking midfielder Julio Enciso.

Although not a forward, Enciso’s departure is an attacking threat removed from Brighton’s squad for the remainder of the season.

This could well mean the Seagulls may draw back on any possible decision to allow Ferguson to depart this month.

Ferguson would approve of a move to Everton, but his decision may be out of his hands despite his lack of minutes under Fabian Hurzeler.

Everton need to sign another striker

There remains a lot of uncertainties surrounding the current crop of strikers on Merseyside.

Everton still want Dominic Calvert-Lewin to sign a new contract on the back of an impressive showing against Spurs.

However, there are injury issues which Moyes is having to deal with as Armando Broja and Youssef Chermiti both remain sidelined.

And then there is Beto who has interest from Torino and wishes to leave Merseyside before the end of the window.

All of this combined with their struggles to score this season show just how crucial it could be for Everton to sign another striker this month.
