There seems to be no better legend at Everton than Duncan Ferguson, who is looking to get back into management.
Former Everton striker Ferguson has made his feelings clear on getting back into the game, as after a period away from football, he’s ready to return.
He’s put himself in the frame for the Toffees job in the future, as after having Premier League experience, Ferguson thinks he’d be perfect for Everton.
That seems like a long-term ambition, but for now, he just needs to get his name back out there, and Ferguson has hinted at joining Carlo Ancelotti with his new Brazil job.
However, this looks unlikely, but a new revelation has come to the surface, which may work out well for the Scotsman.

Everton legend Duncan Ferguson could land job at Rangers
The Everton hard man has built up a brilliant reputation, and his coaching pedigree speaks for itself.
His portfolio can be backed up as Ferguson nurtured the likes of Antonee Robinson when he started off at Everton.
Although his managerial career hasn’t panned out excellently so far, a new role has his name written all over it.
| Duncan Ferguson’s managerial/coaching career | |
| Everton U18 | Assistant manager (2011-2014) |
| Everton | Technical assistant (2014-2019) |
| Everton | Caretaker manager (2019) |
| Everton | Assistant manager (2019-2022) |
| Everton | Caretaker manager (2022) |
| Forest Green | Manager (2023) |
| Inverness CT | Manager (2023-2024) |
With him not getting the rub of the green so far, Rangers could be the perfect destination for Ferguson, and here’s why.
Recent news has revealed that Ancelotti’s son, Davide is set for the Rangers job, continuing the legacy of his father.
This could open a new door for Ferguson, who worked with the Ancelottis during his assistant manager role with the Toffees.
All the signs point to this happening through Ferguson’s desire to get back into management and Ancelotti needing to build up a coaching staff with knowledge of the club, and who better than Ferguson, who played a small part of his career with the Gers.
Adding to this, it’s known that Davide ‘admired’ Ferguson at Everton and valued his input highly (The Athletic).

David Moyes should welcome back Ferguson at Everton
With this looking likely given all the elements adding together, this will be a good chance for Ferguson to continue his strong rapport in the game.
But David Moyes should keep one eye open on Big Dunc’s situation.
If the Rangers move doesn’t come about, even though it’s a match made in heaven for Ancelotti, then there is no reason why Moyes can’t offer him a place back at the club he loves.
The former striker was a prolific goalscorer, and this gives reason why Ferguson should be a coach at Everton to help with Moyes’ goalscoring problems.
This can help Beto remain consistent, and potentially Dominic Calvert-Lewin if he stays, but if there is an opening at Rangers, he should grab the opportunity.
