Everton are still yet to make a single signing in the January transfer market, but the signs are looking positive.
It has not been the start to the winter market that any Everton fan would have hoped for as the wait goes on for business to be done.
David Moyes will surely be making his demands clear behind the scenes as he finds himself with a depleted squad through various big-name absences.
There have been suggestions that the Blues are moving closer to signing a striker, with Everton in talks over Youssef En-Nesyri.
Goals certainly need to be added to this side, but a new striker will not be the only area where Moyes will want to add players.
Defender Jake O’Brien may have just given an indication of that with some of his latest comments at Finch Farm.

Jake O’Brien lets slip on Everton transfer plan
It has been claimed that Everton are keen to sign another right-back this month given their current options are so limited.
O’Brien has played most of his games out at right-back under Moyes since the Scot took control last year.
Speaking to A View From The Bullens, O’Brien’s comments on his positioning may have just indicated where Everton’s next signing may be made.
Everton are keen on signing Brooke Norton-Cuffy… are there other positions more important than right-back this transfer window?
“I think at right-back, you’re more exposed to one-on-ones and me being 6ft 6″, it can be tough against tricky wingers, but you’ve just got to learn to move your feet in a different way,” he said.
“I think playing in that position will benefit me going forward. It will help me when I move back into centre-back. At the end of the day, centre-back is my position and where I want to be playing.”
James Tarkowski has been shocked by how quick O’Brien actually is, but the Irishman simply is not able to provide the attacking quality from the right-back spot.
And that is something fans have to accept as he is naturally a centre-back, which only goes to highlight the demand for a new right-back to be added.

Jake O’Brien set for huge competition at centre-back
There may well be a case of be careful what you wish for with O’Brien when he is speaking about returning to centre-back.
Michael Keane has impressed at Everton this season having played most of the season alongside Tarkowski at the back.
Who would be your dream Everton signing this month? 👀
The pair have formed a solid partnership and it could take some persuading for Moyes to break them up.
It also has to be factored in that Jarrad Branthwaite has now returned to Everton training.
Everton’s prized defender has not played a single minute this season on the back of his injury over the pre-season.
In a matter of months’ time, O’Brien could well find himself as the fourth-choice centre-back at the club.
