Everton finally look like they have kicked into life in the transfer market as they eye a deal for striker Youssef En-Nesyri.

It may have taken Everton two weeks to get going, but there are finally signs of life on Merseyside in the market.

David Moyes will be delighted to see some reinforcement potentially heading his way, with goals a much-needed addition.

Everton are in talks to sign En-Nesyri from Fenerbahce and they would be beating Sean Dyche’s Nottingham Forest in doing so.

No deal is sealed just yet, but positive work finally appears to be taking place behind the scenes at Finch Farm.

There is another boost for the striker as he could have the choice of two of his favourite numbers on the back of a recent transfer development.

Youssef En-Nesyri could have his choice of Everton shirt numbers

Moyes has been desperate to sign another striker this month having seen the dismal returns from Thierno Barry and Beto.

With talks now advancing between the two clubs, attention could soon start turning to what number En-Nesyri could wear at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

For the last two seasons, En-Nesyri has worn the number 19 shirt with Fenerbahce, which is the same number he wears for the Morocco national side.

There is currently no Everton player wearing the number 19.

Another favourite of En-Nesyri is the number 15 shirt, which the striker wore for five seasons during his time in Spain with Sevilla.

Now, the number 15 shirt is currently being worn by Jake O’Brien, but the Irishman may well look to change his shirt number depending on potential player exits.

Nathan Patterson has been offered to Bologna in a potential swap deal for right-back Emil Holm.

If the Everton outcast was to depart, then the number two shirt could become available for O’Brien to possibly switch up.

That may not be the only option available for En-Nesyri, though.

Beto’s uncertain future could leave number nine available

For most strikers, the number nine shirt is the one they all want to wear.

The history behind the shirt number has not been lived up to over recent years, with Beto struggling to find any form on Merseyside in the shirt.

How much could Everton realistically get for Beto in January? 😬

Or should he even be starting ahead of Thierno Barry?

Everton News columnist Alan Myers still believes that Beto could leave Everton in January, but it would depend on a replacement coming the other way.

Fenerbahce have been even offered Beto, which could potentially open the prospect of the two strikers switching clubs over the coming weeks.
