Jarrad Braithwaite’s Everton future has become one of the summer’s biggest stories, with Manchester United reportedly eager to sign the 22-year-old.
Everton have rejected two Red Devils bids since the window opened, and it’s believed the Toffees are preparing to offer the Cumbrian a new deal.
Another positive is that The Friedkin Group’s collapsed takeover won’t have an impact on Branthwaite’s future, with no fire sale expected.
Of course, any transfer saga involving Manchester United is likely to garner attention, and talkSPORT pundit Stuart Pearce has now weighed in on the debate.
Stuart Pearce: Jarrad Branthwaite should stay at Everton

Many have made the journey from Goodison Park to Old Trafford with differing levels of success.
Wayne Rooney went on to be one of the greatest strikers the Premier League has ever seen; Romelu Lukaku and Marouane Fellaini, the less said, the better.
Now, Pearce has claimed another season at Goodison Park wouldn’t be the worst move for Branthwaite.
“I think at his age, he did particularly well on loan prior to last season; I think at his age it won’t be a bad thing to stay at Everton for another season under Sean Dyche, but you would be very, very flattered with the clubs of the potential of Manchester United coming knocking,” Pearce said on talkSPORT.
“Listen, the power is with the player at this moment in time. Don’t get too excited or too downbeat if a transfer happens or doesn’t happen. That will be my advice to him. Let things pan out as they are. If the clubs can agree a deal, and obviously there’s a sticking point at the moment I think from the valuation of Everton to the valuation of Manchester United or other suitors.”
Sean Dyche wants defensive back-up at Everton
With rumour still rife regarding Branthwaite’s future, another defender is now on the agenda for Sean Dyche.
According to the ever-reliable Alan Myers, the Everton boss is looking to bolster his backline after completing the signing of Napoli winger Jesper Lindstrom.
Former Tottenham defender Davison Sanchez is reportedly on interest, and the Colombian has admitted he’s flattered to be linked with the Blues.
Of course, keeping Branthwaite at Goodison Park is absolutely essential, but it’s refreshing to see plans put in place in case Manchester United return with a more enticing bid.
