Everton’s summer has certainly been a mixed one both on and off the pitch with just two weeks until the new season begins.
Sean Dyche will surely be pleased with what he has seen when it comes to this summer’s transfer window.
The Toffees have seen four new faces come through the door so far this summer with Jake O’Brien praising Dyche for their conversations before he signed.
However, Everton’s struggles on the pitch have mirrored the frustrations going on behind the scenes in regards to a potential takeover.
Farhad Moshiri has now seen The Friedkin Group’s proposed takeover fall through on the back of the 777 debacle.
And football finances expert Kieran Maguire has now shared some potentially concerning information out of Goodison Park ahead of the new campaign.

What Kieran Maguire has said about Everton’s finances
Everton have been handed a solid financial boost this summer through the sale of Amadou Onana to Everton for £50m.
And Sky Sports man Alan Myers has claimed Everton are in a sturdy financial position for the short-term.
However, the failure to get a takeover proposal over the line over the last year has really put Everton’s long-term finances under pressure.
And the latest thoughts of Maguire do not make for good listening to any Everton fan.
Speaking on The Guardian’s Football Weekly podcast, Maguire has suggested Everton could hit ‘crisis point’ with their finances as soon as October.
“Yeah, it’s it’s not good. I think in the medium-term, in the short term, the money from Friedkin which is around about £200 million, doesn’t have to be repaid until 2025 so you’ve got a bit of breathing space,” said the financial expert.
“They just had the first installment from the Premier League in terms of this year’s TV money that’s probably worth about £40 million.
“They sold a player or two. So they they’ve got enough money for the next two/three/fourth months, perhaps. But when we get to October, November, then we’re reaching crisis point again.”
Everton need to secure a new ownership
It is a real shame that The Friedkin Group’s proposal fell through given Dan Friedkin’s affection for the club.
However, the blame remains solely on Moshiri having wasted so much time with 777 in what ultimately proved to be a costly error.
Speaking on the same podcast, journalist Philippe Auclair also slammed Moshiri for his involvement with 777.
And when Everton consider they could only be four months away from big financial issues, Moshiri will likely see the frustration from the fans rise again if no deal is on the table.
