Leeds United fans all saying the same thing about former Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Dominic Calvert-Lewin left Everton upon the expiry of his contract in the summer after nine years at the club.

David Moyes wanted to keep Calvert-Lewin, but the centre-forward decided he needed a new challenge elsewhere.

Leeds United ended up offering Calvert-Lewin a very healthy deal, and he actually turned down Champions League clubs to join the newly-promoted Premier League side.

The former Everton frontman was in action against Chelsea last night, and Leeds fans have all been saying the exact same thing.

Leeds United fans impressed by former Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Leeds defeated Chelsea 3-1 at Elland Road on Wednesday evening, and Calvert-Lewin was on the scoresheet, netting the all-important third goal to seal the three points.

Leeds fans have been really critical of Calvert-Lewin in recent weeks, but they were certainly impressed with his performance last night.

@Diddlysquatv3 posted: “DCL, now that’s the player I hoped we’d signed!! He was top class! Great to see!”

“DCL was unbelievable. Big headers all over the pitch and sublime hold up play, big reason we’ve won so emphatically,” @AlexFarnell09 commented.

@uLUFC added: “Injuries have held back DCL over the years but you can see his quality. Putting another man up there with him gets the best out of him. For a pair of freebies, he and Nmecha gave a very expensive Chelsea defence an absolute lesson.”

“Bijol and DCL look utterly transformed in this formation as it plays to their strengths and takes pressure off their weaknesses,” @arnie_booth noted.

@Lovat1Alasdair simply said: “Best game so far from DCL. MOT.”

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has more goals than Beto and Thierno Barry combined

It’s a pretty damning state of affairs when Calvert-Lewin has more goals than Everton’s two strikers combined.

The Leeds number nine has netted three goals this term, whilst Beto and Barry have two between them, with the latter still not off the mark.

In fact, many would argue that Calvert-Lewin is a better striker than both and even with his flaws, would’ve had the Toffees in a better position this season.

It’s no wonder Moyes wants to sign a striker in January, with Richarlison, Ivan Toney and Troy Parrott all linked.

The Toffees have also explored a deal to sign Joshua Zirkzee, although he’s now getting game time at Manchester United.
