Everton have made it clear that Liam Delap is their priority for the upcoming transfer window.
David Moyes seems very fond of the striker who has broken onto the scene this year with Ipswich Town.
The son of Rory will be a big subject of interest this summer, with Man United also interested in Delap.
As Everton are prioritising a striker, this will be where The Friedkin Group will want to invest early on in the window, as Delap is available for £30m.
But all hope might have just been lost after a major breaking revelation which Everton will want to unsee.

Liam Delap’s transfer preference revealed with Everton among suitors
With Delap being the shining light in an already-relegated Ipswich Town team, it comes as no surprise that he’s the name on everyone’s lips.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 18 | 36 | 4 | 10 | 22 | 35 | 77 | -42 | 22 |
12 goals in his debut season in the Premier League exemplify why he is in such high demand and why Everton want Delap as a ‘statement signing’.
However, it’s not all plain sailing, and that’s become apparent with the interest from United and Chelsea.
Of course, the new era at Everton would become surreal if Delap arrived, but talkSPORT have probably put to bed any chance of that happening.
The source reveals that Delap is ‘leaning towards’ joining Manchester United, as Everton have suffered their first major blow of the window.

Moyes can take risk with Beto at Everton next season
With the interest in Delap now seemingly looking all but over, Moyes will have to consider alternatives.
However, he might already have the perfect candidate ready and waiting in Beto.
Of course, the 27-year-old hasn’t been on the level of Delap this season, but he’s proven to Moyes how he can get himself out of poor form and become a reliable striker, with the Fulham game coming as the perfect example.
| Beto’s statistics in Fulham 1-3 Everton | |
| Minutes played | 89 |
| Goals | 1 |
| Shot accuracy % | 67% |
| Aerial duels won % | 73% |
| Match rating | 8.1 |
With Delap deciding his future quickly, the news about him preferring United has probably ended the transfer saga, but Beto isn’t a bad option for Everton to lean on themselves.
It’s obviously a big setback very early on in the window, but The Friedkins should use it as motivation to kick on.
