Ben Doak could still become an Everton player this season, in a controversial decision for the Liverpool winger.
The 19-year-old certainly caught the eye of David Moyes after his time on loan at Middlesbrough last season.
Doak is weighing up his options as Premier League sides, including Everton, look to persuade him with a first-team position rather than the squad status he currently has at Anfield.
Everton fans don’t want Doak, but it seems as though when Moyes puts his mind to a player, he’s eager for them to join.
This is mostly down to the £30m fee that comes with the winger rather than his allegiance with Liverpool, as Everton will only pay £15m, but this figure could work after what the red side of Merseyside have said.

Liverpool fans react to Everton target Ben Doak
It would be an interesting deal if it came to fruition, but the Scotsman would no doubt love to have a fellow countryman as his manager.
He has a tricky choice to make as Crystal Palace also want Doak, with an exit from Liverpool looking increasingly likely.
Well, fans have reacted to the Reds’ opening pre-season game as they ran out 3-1 winners at Preston.
Doak starred for Arne Slot’s side, grabbing a hard-fought assist for Cody Gakpo, but this hasn’t appeared to convince the Liverpool fans for him to stay.
After the youngster’s performance, Everton’s rival fanbase flocked over to X to speak on Doak, and it was a resounding answer towards his future.
@melodicish said: “I don’t think he fits in the team. We need to sell him.”
@SachGKT18 hinted at Doak joining Everton, saying: “Not ready for Prem, might need another loan or even sell him if we get a decent fee.”
“Found his level,” an unconvinced @danielim1400 said.
@SultanOfAnfield demanded: “Needs to be sold.”
@Ap_1518 bluntly said: “Sell”
@forcee99 isn’t happy with Doak, saying: “This guy is soooooooooooo average. Championship player”

Everton won’t be complaining after Liverpool fans’ Doak assessment
Despite him putting in a positive display, the Liverpool fanbase clearly feels as though he doesn’t warrant a place in Slot’s plans, and Everton won’t be complaining.
This performance alone shows why Moyes wants to sign the Scotsman, as Doak has got Virgil van Dijk’s approval, which explains how good the young winger actually is, but his display backed that up.
| Doak’s statistics in Preston 1-2 Liverpool | |
| Minutes played | 45 |
| Assists | 1 |
| Chances created | 2 (Most chances created in game) |
| Passing accuracy % | 80% |
| Dribble success % | 100% |
Liverpool might be willing to offload squad options this summer to fuel other transfers, as Doak could be sold for Marc Guehi’s signing, which Everton need to pounce on.
Doak has shown he’s a threat, and with Moyes needing a right-winger desperately, the youngster ticks every box that he’s ready for the challenge.
