‘Looks lost’… Everton fans send David Moyes a clear message about one player after loss to Blackburn

It has not been the best start to pre-season for Everton under David Moyes.

After a fairly underwhelming display at Accrington Stanley after a 1-1 draw, the Toffees didn’t exactly set the world alight at Blackburn either.

A 1-0 defeat has got fans raising questions and demanding more signings, as there is no denying The Friedkin Group must get to work.

After their opening games have come to an end, Moyes now needs to get his side ready for fixtures in America, as the likes of Man United and West Ham will be faced in the Premier League summer series.

Mark Travers showed promising signs on his first appearance, but for one Everton player, it’s not looking good.

Everton fans send clear message about one player after Blackburn loss

It seemed like the same old story for the Toffees, as the end product just wasn’t there again for Moyes.

Travers seemed to be the only positive from the encounter as he proved how he can be relied upon between the sticks.

Thierno Barry is bound to make his first outing in America, and it’s desperately needed with Beto not living up to the billing after Everton’s opening pre-season fixtures.

Beto will still lead Everton this season, but if Barry impresses, Moyes might not have a choice but to start the Frenchman.

Away from the striker situation though, Everton have a problem at right-back as Nathan Patterson put in another below-par performance, with Evertonians making their views very clear.

@NubiBlue said: “Jake O’Brien in a few minutes showing why he’s a better right back than Patterson.”

@StuieHayllor claimed: “Patterson looks absolutely lost out there.”

@EFC_phela said the Scotsman looked like a former target, saying: “Patterson thinks he’s prime Kyle Walker. We need a better RB.”

“Patterson putting in a nice audition for a new RB,” @bluesofgoodison joked.

@nismoneil has had enough, saying: “No if No buts. We need a decent RB.”

“Patterson is awful :(,” @attazyt said.

Moyes has already made his feelings clear on Patterson at Everton

After yet another dismal display from Patterson, Moyes knows Everton need a right-back.

This is what has already been demanded by the Scotsman, and it’s up to The Friedkins to deliver this summer, as Everton are waiting on Georgios Vagiannidis.

Anything at this point would be an upgrade on Patterson, who was disappointing even against a mid-table Championship side.

Moyes doesn’t trust Patterson, and it’s quite clear his fellow countryman doesn’t warrant a starting place.

The owners now have to step up and deliver Moyes his transfer wish, otherwise things could turn sour.
