Everton have gone international as the Mayor of New York City shared a message with the supporters on Merseyside.
The Toffees have found themselves intertwined in the political scene in the United Kingdom because of Andy Burnham over recent weeks.
Amid the summer transfer market, Everton are giving their supporters very little to cheer about as no business has been done to date.

The suffering felt from some Evertonians has even been recognised by the Mayor of New York City, Zohran Mamdani, who shared his own message to Burnham.

New York Mayor sends Everton message to Andy Burnham
Burnham has voiced his support for Everton throughout his campaign for the Makerfield by-election earlier this month.
The 56-year-old is a regular at the Hill Dickinson Stadium and he has been attending Everton games for decades.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Mamdani issued a very subtle dig towards Everton as he spoke about Burnham following his winning campaign.
“I wish him well, I don’t think he’s an Arsenal supporter though,” he said.
“No, he’s an Everton supporter,” replied Mark Chapman.
“Well, at least you can respect that someone has suffered. No, I like it when I meet someone who’s a fan of a team that hasn’t just won, and won and won,” Mamdani added.
The Friedkin Group need to end Everton’s suffering
Of course, the 2025/26 season could have been worse for Everton as they finally pulled themselves away from the relegation battle.
However, the ambition of The Friedkin Group is being questioned at Everton.
A significant chunk of change is needing to be spent on improving the squad this summer and, yet, the Toffees have made a lacklustre start to the transfer market.
If you were Angus Kinnear who would you be going all out for this summer? 💰
There were arguably only two signings that worked out for David Moyes last season in Jack Grealish and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
Everton are working to retain Grealish for the upcoming season, but there is no certainty that he will be back.
Considering Iliman Ndiaye is failing to quash Everton exit rumours, there is certainly an argument to be made that Moyes’ squad could be weakening.
Although Everton supporters did not suffer the anxiety of relegation fears in the 2025/26 campaign, a failure to improve the squad could easily return the Toffees back to that position.
Everton have already witnessed how active Tottenham Hotspur have been in the market so far having flirted with relegation.
The Blues may not be able to spend as freely as Spurs, but a certain level of ambition needs to be shown on Merseyside this summer to prevent any stagnation or even regression over the coming 12 months.
