Everton are in the market for a striker this summer transfer window.

Nuno Espirito Santo is a big fan of Everton target Taty Castellanos

It has been reported that Everton are plotting a move to sign Taty Castellanos, who has impressed since joining West Ham in the January transfer window.

The £25m centre-forward netted a commendable seven goals in 22 appearances for the Hammers, so he’s expected to depart following their relegation.

Nuno was a really big fan of Taty during the short time he worked with the 27-year-old.

Speaking back in February, the West Ham boss heaped praise on the Everton target: “We’ve been lucky to have him.

“Since he joined us, I think he’s brought a lot of good things to the team — his energy, hard work, goals and the way he plays football.

“We decided to bring him in because we believe in him.”

Taty, who has been capped twice by Argentina, has displayed his exceptional pressing ability week in and week out, but there’s certainly room to improve his consistency in front of goal.

He’s never scored more than 13 league goals in a single season in one of Europe’s top five divisions.
