Everton are hoping to get back on track today in the Premier League and Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has praised the Toffees while mentioning a number of players.

David Moyes’ side could only draw with Manchester City on Monday, in what was a pulsating contest.

Everton were seconds away from winning the game, but Jeremy Doku’s last-gasp strike saw the visitors steal a point.

Let us know your prediction for Sunday’s trip to Crystal Palace… 😬

The result makes Everton’s task of getting European football more difficult.

But there’s still an outside chance, and nothing less than a win today against Palace will do.

Ahead of the game, Oliver Glasner spoke about and why he has huge respect for the club.

Everton have a very good record against Palace in recent times.

The Toffees haven’t lost to the Eagles in any of the last 10 meetings, and Moyes personally also has a superb record against Palace.

With Palace having played Thursday night, the hope from an Everton point of view is that Glasner’s side will be somewhat tired.

Glasner has admitted to giving his players Friday off to recover, so their preparations for this game haven’t been ideal. Everton now need to take advantage.

What changes would you make to our prediction of Moyes’ XI on Sunday? 😬

It would not surprise us to see Merlin Rohl dropped despite Monday's display 🫣

Speaking ahead of the game though, Glasner said: “I think David Moyes is doing a fantastic job there. I know their exact league position right now, but they’re in the fight for European places. I was just told by the chairman it could end with 11 English teams playing European football next year.

“Physical team, good players, with Ndiaye, Dewsbury-Hall, Barry or Beto at striker. I think Merlin Rohl made a very good game against City, with Garner, very physical backline, big forward, of course English national team goalkeeper (Jordan Pickford), always long balls. Very threatening in set-plays. Huge respect for them.”

Must-win game for Everton

There is quite simply no room for error today if Everton want European football.

The draw with City was good in isolation, but that goal by Doku has now made things really tough.

Bournemouth and Brighton both won yesterday, and it looks like both of those clubs will have either Champions League or Europa League football.

Realistically Everton’s best hope is to sneak into eighth and get a Conference League place.

The Toffees are three points behind Brentford, who lost to Manchester City yesterday, and one behind Chelsea, who could only draw with Liverpool.

Hopefully, Moyes can get his tactics spot on, and continue this great run against Palace.
