Everton are set to see three of their four World Cup representatives in action over the coming hours.

Iliman Ndiaye and Idrissa Gana Gueye are both gearing up for Senegal’s game against France on Tuesday evening.

However, Everton’s goalkeeper Jordan Pickford will round off the action from the first games of the group stages on Wednesday with England.

Paul Scholes thinks Everton’s Jordan Pickford is good enough for France

Gary Neville admitted he expects Pickford to win the Golden Glove at this summer’s World Cup.

The 32-year-old has played a huge role in England’s relative success over recent years, with plenty impressed by his efforts for the national side.

Debating whether England or France have the better goalkeeper, Scholes said: “Just Pickford, for me. I don’t think there’s a lot in it.”

Which Everton player are you expecting to have the best World Cup? 🏆

Speaking on The Good The Bad and The Football podcast, Emmanuel Petit sided with his fellow countryman Mike Maignan.

David James thinks Pickford could be England’s greatest goalkeeper, with success in this summer’s tournament potentially cementing his credentials.

The 32-year-old has been a really solid figure between the sticks for the Three Lions over the recent tournaments.

Some may even argue that Everton have been fortunate to keep hold of such a solid goalkeeper given their own struggles over recent years.

Pickford has been linked with Chelsea recently, but the Washington-born goalkeeper has firmly rooted himself on Merseyside.

Many have France as their favourites to lift the trophy this summer, which only goes to highlight just how highly Pickford is rated by some across the game.

However, his first test will come on Wednesday evening against an old foe in Croatia for the Three Lions.
