Everton are beginning to open up a healthy cushion on the bottom three in the Premier League after another game unbeaten.

The Toffees could really open up the gap on the side bottom of the table, Southampton, this weekend when they travel down to St Mary’s.

Sean Dyche has come under pressure at Everton already this season after the Blues opened up the term with four straight defeats.

But there has been some encouragement growing around Goodison Park following Everton’s run of five games in the league without defeat.

But Dyche will be all to aware of the pressures put on a Premier League manager with Manchester United having sacked Erik ten Hag this week.

What Everton’s Sean Dyche said about Man United sacking Erik ten Hag

Dyche sat down with the media on Thursday at Finch Farm where he revealed Dwight McNeil missed Everton training as he worked individually with the physio.

And during the chat with the media, Dyche admitted he thinks Ten Hag was provided enough time and resources to turn things around at Old Trafford.

“People in the game don’t like to see managers getting the sack. But eventually, that’s the nature of the business. We all understand it,” said Dyche.

“I think results haven’t gone to their liking, of course, over a period of time and Man United certainly have a high demand.

“I suppose the only thing I would say is I think there’s been a fair time scale for the manager and resources available for such a highly regarded manager to, you know, sort of get a grip to what it is.”

Given managers are usually quite restrained when speaking on matters at other clubs, it does feel like Dyche actually gave his honest thoughts on the sacking.

Who could replace Sean Dyche as Everton manager?

Everton may well have shown some improved form of late but there are big changes expected over the coming months on Merseyside.

The Friedkin Group are closing in on their Everton takeover and the American party could well bring ideas of their own.

It has already been suggested The Friedkin Group want Maurizio Sarri to manage Everton having already spoken to the Italian.

For now, Dyche appears to be safe in his position with Farhad Moshiri still holding the keys to the club.

But with considerable change on the way at Everton, perhaps Dyche could become one of the next in line for the sack if Everton fail to put many more wins on the board ahead of TFG’s takeover.
