Everton have seen some players reject the opportunity to join them over recent years only to regret their decision.
Although Everton are not exactly lighting up the Premier League this season, there are players who could have joined them and potentially have enjoyed more regular football.
One big example of this is Hakim Ziyech who wants to leave Galatasaray just over a year after deciding against joining Everton.
And there could well be another player who may make the move to Merseyside just a matter of months after joining another club instead.
The Friedkin Group are ready to spend in January at Everton, but there are a number of other clubs showing interest in the same targets.

Everton showing interest in Aston Villa’s Jaden Philogene
Last summer, Everton showed a real interest in Jaden Philogene before he eventually made the move to Aston Villa.
According to The Athletic, Everton are one of the sides who are still showing an interest in the youngster as he struggles at Villa Park.
But the Toffees are not alone in their interest with Ipswich Town aslo reigniting their interest from the summer.
Villa are now open to allowing Philogene to leave the club on loan this month having spent £18m on him last year.
There is an issue for Everton who would face complications with another loan having already reached their limit for the season.
What this could mean is Everton may have to terminate their loan for Jack Harrison if they were to make a move for a player like Philogene.
Jaden Philogene was warned against joining Everton
There could be attacking players heading out of Goodison Park this month with Beto receiving a lot of interest in January.
With the Toffees struggling for goals as things are, adding an exciting player like Philogene could make a lot of sense.
However, he was warned over the summer against joining Everton by former Tottenham Hotspur player Chris Waddle.
“Barcelona have been linked to him, which says it all about the type of player he is and could become,” he said.
“He’s going to have some wonderful options and he deserves them. If I was him, I’d go to a club in Spain or Germany.”
The question which will arise is whether half a season would be enough for Philogene to make an impression given he would not be arriving with match fitness.
Dyche has been criticised for not using his summer signings and a winger with two league starts to his name could fall into that pit like many others at Everton.
