Jarrad Branthwaite has now returned to on-field running following his rehabilitation trip to Munich.

It was a season for Branthwaite to forget on Merseyside after injuries hamstrung his game time in an Everton shirt.

Having not returned to David Moyes’ side until the latter stages of the season, it did not take the defender long to suffer yet another hamstring injury.

Fortunately, no surgery was required this time, but Branthwaite’s season was drawn to a premature close.

Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite handed positive injury update

Branthwaite jetted off to the MYOS clinic for rehab a number of weeks ago to prepare himself for the pre-season efforts.

The centre-back suffered his significant hamstring injury last summer during the pre-season game between Everton and Roma.

Now, the Daily Mail have claimed that Branthwaite is back to running following his trip to Munich.

The MYOS clinic is world-renowned among athletes, which will have the defender in a positive frame of mind going into the pre-season plans.

Everton are set to play Newcastle United in Edinburgh, but the full scale of their plans are yet to be announced.

Having Branthwaite available for the start of pre-season will be a huge boost for Moyes.

The 23-year-old has endured some rotten luck when it comes to injuries, which limited him to just 10 appearances last season.

However, Everton did hold fitness concerns with Branthwaite after his initial return, which will surely act as a lesson not to overload the centre-back over the summer and early stages of the new campaign.

Everton are keen to improve their defence this summer, with full-back additions set to allow Jake O’Brien to return to his natural central role.

This should allow Moyes more scope to rotate his side; something that plagued the Everton squad over the 2025/26 campaign.
