Everton are going to be active in this summer’s transfer window.
With plenty of players still experiencing an uncertain future on Merseyside due to their contract situations, Everton need to invest heavily in bolstering their squad depth.
David Moyes has spoken to some out-of-contract Everton players this week about potentially keeping them beyond their current deals.
However, nothing has been announced just yet as the Toffees work on a number of things behind the scenes at Finch Farm.
It has been suggested Moyes wants to address four key positions in the summer transfer window.
One of those is in midfield with some really important midfielders still not seeing their futures on Merseyside secured.
With the search for new signings ongoing a stunning return has not been ruled out for one former midfielder.

Everton would consider Ross Barkley reunion
Ahead of the summer, Everton are being linked with re-signing Richarlison from Tottenham Hotspur.
The Brazilian finds himself wanting more regular football than he has been getting in north London over recent years.
And this may not be the only potential big return to Merseyside this summer, according to Alan Myers.
The Sky Sports reporter responded to the prospect of Everton potentially making a move for Ross Barkley this summer.
“I’m sure if a player like Ross Barkley is available the club would at least look at it, but I honestly don’t think any final decisions have been made about any players coming in,” he said.
Barkley finds himself struggling for minutes under Unai Emery at Aston Villa.
Everton are eyeing Gabriel Sara as a midfield addition ahead of the window opening, but Barkley could present himself as a cheap option.
The 31-year-old only has one year remaining on his current deal with Villa and is far from a regular in their XI.
Ross Barkley needs more regular football
It has been a real struggle for Barkley this season at Villa Park with his minutes few and far between.
Andros Townsend hailed Barkley as ‘unbelievable’ on TalkSPORT just a couple of years ago.
Villa’s qualification into the Champions League seems to have pushed the midfielder out of the running to start on a regular basis.

Everton are trying to keep Idrissa Gana Gueye but face the prospect of losing him and Abdoulaye Doucoure.
Although that would require a big signing to replace Gueye, Everton could also do with some quality squad players.
Moyes has not been overly impressed by James Garner and Orel Mangala will return to Lyon following his long-term injury.
Another Merseyside homecoming could well make perfect sense for Barkley and the Blues.
