The international break is always somewhat of an inconvenience to Premier League clubs and Everton are no different in that.

Picking up injuries on international duty is always a worry and Everton have a number of first-teamers jetting off for the next two weeks.

Everton are about to enter an incredibly tough run of fixtures, too, so they simply can’t afford to lose any of their key players.

However, unfortunately, Jarrad Branthwaite has already returned from England camp after sustaining a knock against West Ham United on the weekend.

Now, it has just come to light what the extent of his injury is and when he’s expected to return from the sidelines.

Everton hope Jarrad Branthwaite will be fit to face Brentford

Jarrad Branthwaite left England’s first-team camp earlier this week and according to the Daily Mail, he has been nursing a pelvic issue.

The 22-year-old was absent from training on Wednesday and Thursday and has not travelled to Athens to take on Greece this evening.

It’s believed Branthwaite is dealing with a pelvic bone problem, however, it’s not feared to be serious and Everton are hopeful he’ll be available for selection against Brentford on November 23.

That news will come as a massive relief to manager Sean Dyche, who’s only just got his prized asset back from a groin injury.

Branthwaite will be key to Everton revival

Everton had the fourth-best defence in the Premier League last season, only behind Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool.

The emergence of Branthwaite was a big part of that and it’s been evident that without him, the defence is very leaky.

So, if the Merseysiders are to avoid relegation this year, it’s absolutely imperative they keep the young defender injury-free.

They must manage Branthwaite’s minutes accordingly and not rush him back.
