Everton are back in action on Wednesday night with David Moyes’ first game back on Merseyside against Aston Villa.

A fresh start is being offered by The Friedkin Group with a new look Everton taking to the pitch at Goodison Park.

The Toffees have not made any new signings this month, but there is a completely different feel about Everton going into the game on Wednesday.

Moyes has already sent a warning to the Everton players ahead of the game against Unai Emery’s Villa.

And he has now issued a message to the fans set to take their place at Goodison for his return after 11 years away from Everton.

David Moyes excited for his Everton return vs Aston Villa

Moyes is expecting Everton to make two signings this month to bolster his options for the remainder of the campaign.

For now, he will be looking to see his inherited players step up their performances over the coming days with two big games coming up this week.

Speaking in his pre-game notes for the match programme, Moyes has sent a message out to the fans who he is excited to be reunited with.

“I don’t need reminding of how special this place can be on nights like these – some of my favourite memories as a manager have come from them – so let’s all play our part and make sure these last few opportunities to experience Goodison nights are ones to savour,” said Moyes.

It is not just the fans who are raring to go, Everton defender Jake O’Brien is relishing the fresh start under Moyes.

The game against Villa has the potential to provide a serious atmosphere at Goodison which could well be the boost these players need.

Moyes backed Sean Dyche’s Everton efforts

Ahead of the game on Wednesday, Sean Dyche has also spoken on his Everton sacking where he sent his support for Moyes.

And the 60-year-old has recipriated the positive words from Dyche having supported the work done by the former Everton boss.

“While away from the Club, I’ve been looking from a distance at Everton, and the troubles we’ve had in recent years. I must say I think Sean Dyche did a great job to ride a lot of those difficult moments,” Moyes added.

But it is now a fresh start for all at Everton and fans will be keen to see how Moyes selects his starting XI against Villa.

Beto is set for another Everton opportunity under Moyes and is just one of numerous players who will be looking to impress the new boss.
