Everton scouts were in attendance for FC Porto’s Europa League game against Olympiacos on Thursday night.
It has not been easy for Everton in the January transfer window as they still await their first signing.
David Moyes spoke about how close Everton are to their first signing during his press conference on Friday.
Fow now, Moyes’ attention has returned to their upcoming game against Brighton & Hove Albion on Thursday.
But Kevin Thelwell has a list of Everton transfer targets laid out which Moyes has sifted through.
Speaking to Everton News, TBR Football’s Chief Transfer Correspondent Graeme Bailey has shared who Everton were watching on Thursday night.

Everton scouted FC Porto defender Joao Mario vs Olympiacos
Sources have informed Bailey that the player in question was the Porto right-back, Joao Mario.
The 25-year-old is a player who Moyes has previously taken an interest in during his time as the West Ham United manager.
Moyes is keen for Everton to add another full-back either this month or in the summer and said as much during Friday’s press conference.
“I definitely agree, we’d probably like to strengthen at left-back if possible, but maybe I’ll have another addition there if possible,” said Moyes.
The Portuguese defender has strictly played on the right side, but he has featured all the way up that flank; even playing at right-wing.
Joao Mario’s display vs Olympiacos in numbers
It was a night to forget for Porto who suffered defeat at home to the Greek outfit in Europe’s second tier competition.
And it was not exactly the best of showings from the right-back who was replaced after 73 minutes.
- 73 minutes played
- 2 clearances
- 1 interception
- 1 tackle
- 3/4 ground duels won
- 1/5 crosses
- 76% pass accuracy
Everton are heading into the final months of the season with Seamus Coleman and Ashley Young set to see their contracts expire.
Coleman has admitted he may not renew his Everton contract when asked last month, which creates real uncertainty in the right-back position.
