Juventus want £35m from Everton as Luiz is ‘officially on his way out’ this window, and whether the Toffees can strike a deal is another question.

A loan deal could also be on the cards if The Friedkins don’t want to pay that, but for £35m it seems like a no-brainer.

But with Luiz wanting to join, what does he really want to get out of this move?

The print edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (page 9, 22 July) claims that Luiz wants to return to England ‘as soon as possible’ to help his chances of getting into Brazil’s World Cup squad, who happened to be managed by former Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti.

Ancelotti could endorse Everton move to Luiz

There is no doubt that Ancelotti knows Luiz is a talent, but there is no justifying that he deserves a place in the Brazil squad at the moment.

With the Italian at the helm, he has the power to make the decisions, as Brazil look to rebuild after years of disappointment.

Ancelotti could contact Luiz and suggest that a move to Everton would help his chances, as he knows the club very well, but Luiz will know he has to work for it.

Luiz is one of the best dribblers in Europe, and when the Brazilian met Ancelotti at Everton, he showed Don Carlo what he’s all about.

This proves to the Italian that he could quite easily find this form at Everton once again, as Luiz will certainly take the chance if Ancelotti advises him on a move to Bramley-Moore Dock.
