Everton are putting the finishing touches on their squad after what has been an encouraging summer window.

Although Everton’s window may have gotten off to a slow start, the progress made in recent weeks has been extremely positive.

David Moyes is delighted with signing Jack Grealish and Tyler Dibling, with his ‘dream’ two signings being sanctioned by The Friedkin Group.

Eight new faces have come through the doors at Finch Farm this summer, with Moyes rejuvenating the squad he inherited back in January.

During the pre-season trip to the United States, Moyes demanded nine signings from the Everton owners.

With one more addition needed to reach that number, it is believed there is one particular signing the 62-year-old is ready to approve.

David Moyes expected to green light ninth Everton signing

Everton are keen to add to their defence before the end of the window, with injuries already plaguing the Blues.

Jarrad Branthwaite remains sidelined through injury, but Moyes has welcomed back Nathan Patterson and Vitaliy Mykolenko.

According to The Athletic, Moyes is now ‘likely’ to assess his options at right-back before the deadline on Monday evening.

Currently, the 62-year-old has three options to choose from:

However, Everton have agreed to loan Patterson to Sevilla for the remainder of the 2025/26 campaign.

That deal will only be sanctioned if the Blues can bring in a replacement for the Scotland international.

Everton have the majority of their work done this summer, which could make for a really interesting end to the summer window.

Deadline days have not exactly been the most exciting over recent years, but this could turn into a day of opportunities for Everton.

What David Moyes said about late transfer deals

Everton kept their winning ways going on Wednesday night with a victory against Mansfield Town in the Carabao Cup.

With late moves on the cards, Everton are receiving interest in Youssef Chermiti, which could well see another attacking player needed.

Speaking after the game at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, Moyes shared his desire to add more defensive options.

“We wanted to try and give as many players (as possible) a game. I’ve not got any defenders. I’m very limited to what I can choose defensive-wise,” he told the media.

“It already has changed a lot of my plans because, obviously, we’re without Jarrad and we have been without Myko for, certainly, the first couple of games.

“We had this at the end of last season as well, we’ve had it all through the summer. It’s not as if we’ve necessarily got it better.”
