Everton striker Thierno Barry was able to double his tally for the season on Tuesday night against Nottingham Forest.

The 23-year-old is making somewhat of a habit of scoring against Sean Dyche’s side, with both of Barry’s goals this season coming against the Reds.

David Moyes will be delighted to see his summer signing adding to his tally, but he certainly needs to find some more consistency.

After scoring on Tuesday night, Barry issued a cheeky dig at Forest as he admitted he wished he could play them every week.

There is no doubt that Barry’s start to life at Everton has been underwhelming, but it must be remembered that he’s still adapting to life in a new country and league.

There is one former Everton player who Barry is now studying as he looks to nail down some form for the Toffees.

Thierno Barry shares which Everton hero he’s studying to improve

Moyes has been impressed with Barry’s improvements over recent weeks despite still needing to show more to really win over the Everton boss.

Having netted on Tuesday evening, Barry has offered insight to the work he has been doing behind the scenes to continue his development.

Speaking to the Everton media team, Barry admitted he watched a video of Romelu Lukaku on Tuesday morning ahead of the trip to the City Ground.

“I’m very happy. When I woke up this morning, I felt I could score again. I’m very happy for the goal and I’m also very happy to get the win,” said the striker.

“Every week, after our games, I watch Premier League goals and I also watch Lukaku’s goals. I try to do it like him. Maybe it’s a bit difficult because he did very good things here, but I try to do my best.”

Ironically, Beto shared his admiration for Lukaku and claimed it was one of the reasons he moved to Everton.

If Everton could get Barry to perform anywhere near the level of Lukaku then he will prove himself to be a solid purchase.

Everton want more from Barry in front of goal

Although there have been some improvements on display, Moyes publicly urged Barry to offer more for Everton.

Until Barry is able to show consistency in front of goal, there is going to be a need for Everton to add more firepower up front.

Name some things more likely than Thierno Barry scoring 11+ goals this season… 😬

He'd need some second half to the term to reach those numbers…

It is believed that Moyes is keen to sign another striker for Everton in the January transfer window.

“I think when you play the games, you feel more comfortable. I’ve tried to grow my body to be stronger and I feel that I’m stronger now than I was when I first came here,” said the Frenchman after the game against Forest.

Despite being dropped to the bench against Burnley, it is pretty clear that Barry has secured the starting spot under Moyes.

Barry has even formed a solid partnership with James Garner as they combined for the second goal at the City Ground on Tuesday evening.
