Everton are now on the search for attacking additions in this summer’s transfer market.

The Toffees have got the ball rolling in the market after Everton confirmed the signing of Hayden Hackney from Middlesbrough on Thursday.

Having also announced the 2026/27 home kit, there is now a feeling that Everton are up and running ahead of the new season.

Now Hackney is confirmed, who should Everton be bringing in next? 💰

Time to take our foot off the brake pedal in the market…

It has been suggested that Everton are keen to sign winger Keito Nakamura, but what would this mean for Tyler Dibling?

The youngster has already endured a tricky start to life on Merseyside and added competition will not be what he wants to see.

Tyler Dibling could fight for his place at Everton

Having spent £40m on Dibling last summer, the club will be wanting to see some return on the pitch from the youngster.

It has been claimed that Everton wanted to try Dibling as a striker, but the natural winger refused that possibility.

How can Tyler Dibling actually turn things around at Everton? 🤷‍♂️

It's going to need some turnaround from the youngster 😫

If Nakamura were to land on Merseyside, he would not be direct competition for Dibling, as he typically plays off the left-wing.

Keito Nakamura’s 2025/26 season.

However, that could then shift the likes of Iliman Ndiaye and potentially Tyrique George over to competing for the starting spot on the right-wing.

Moyes wants Dibling to impress him during pre-season, with the prospect of another winger joining the club seriously ramping up the pressure.

The summer signing failed to impress Moyes last season and the notion of him having to fight for the starting spot against someone like Ndiaye feels like a huge task.

Tyler Dibling could play centrally for Everton

Although the opportunity to play as Everton’s striker did not appeal to Dibling, perhaps the idea of playing in the number 10 position may.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has really impressed at Everton after making the move to the north west following his stint with Chelsea.

The 27-year-old has truly been one of the best signings made by the Toffees over recent years, with a solid return of eight goals and six assists last season.

There is an expectation that Charly Alcaraz could leave Everton this summer, which may provide a need for someone to compete with Dewsbury-Hall.

Playing as the number 10 is something Dibling has done quite a lot during the early stages of his young career.

In fact, playing as an attacking midfielder is the position Dibling has played in most aside from on the right-wing.

Again, Dibling would find himself competing for the starting spot against one of Everton’s most established players.

However, playing in that position has actually provided Dibling with the greatest returns in front of goal.

Uprooting Dewsbury-Hall from the starting XI would be a huge ask, but it could see Everton finally get the best out of Dibling.

Everton may have to consider a loan for Dibling

Having spent such a significant fee on the 20-year-old, seeing him depart on loan is likely the last thing Everton will want this summer.

The reality is Dibling is now at a stage in his career where he needs regular football to develop, and that has not happened since making the move to Everton.

There have been suggestions that Dibling has struggled to settle on Merseyside having grown up down south.

It is now in the interest of both parties for Dibling to play regular minutes in the 2026/27 campaign.

If Everton hold on to Dibling and fail to offer him the stage to develop his talent, then they are only going to lose money on a player who is not playing.

A Premier League loan to a club where he will play consistently could be ideal for Dibling.

During Southampton’s 2024/25 season, the winger played 33 times in the Premier League, yet last season offered him just 14 appearances in the top flight for Everton.

The Toffees need to be smart about their plan for Dibling, but he does have the opportunity to put himself in Moyes’ plans with a solid pre-season.
