It looks like with Tyler Dibling’s £50 million price tag out of Everton’s comfort zone, a deal for Grealish looks likely.

Everton have opened talks with Grealish as the winger looks to move on from Man City this summer.

David Moyes needs to strengthen his wingers before the new season, and the 29-year-old certainly has the right credentials.

The Friedkin Group are doing the work behind the scenes, but one star in the squad might not be too keen on the news.

Grealish is known for being a player who is tricky to play against, but that’s exactly what the Everton boss wants to bring.

The City star has got a reputation for being fouled consistently, and his statistics certainly back that up after his time in Manchester.

Someone who got a bit heated with the winger’s theatrics was Nathan Patterson, as Grealish proved to be a nightmare for the Scotsman.

In December 2023, during Everton’s 3-1 defeat to Man City, Grealish had an encounter with Patterson.

The pair had a tense exchange that nearly resulted in a scrap between the two as Patterson declined to shake Grealish’s hand, instead pushing him and pointing a finger at him.

Now a reunion could be in place with Grealish bringing a £300k-a-week salary, and nowadays it will be the winger getting the last laugh over the right-back once again.

There could be some tension in the air if the England international comes face-to-face with the Everton defender again.

But back then, the Scotsman was a starter, and his career has taken a turn for the worse, as Moyes will be looking to replace him this summer.

Moyes doesn’t trust Patterson, and he’s made that clear with the desire to sign a right-back this summer, as Grealish will be guaranteed a starting spot, whereas the 23-year-old might only be used as a squad option.

He’ll need to prove to the Toffees boss why he’s worthy of a starting place, as the City winger’s arrival could provide a distraction after their messy past.
