Competition for players in the summer transfer window is proving extremely difficult for Everton.
David Moyes is being made to wait for significant signings to land on Merseyside after the addition of Thierno Barry.
The 62-year-old’s patience is being tested, but Everton are working on potential deals in the background.
Everton are trying to sign Tyler Dibling from Southampton, with their opening bid of £27m already being snubbed.
Major issues have come in front of goal for Everton over recent years, but there has been a requirement for signings across the entire squad.
With so many areas to be addressed, West Ham are now looking to catch the Toffees sleeping by placing a bid for one of their targets.

West Ham lodge bid for Everton target John Victor
Everton lost Asmir Begovic and Joao Virginia as free agents earlier in the summer, leaving a big hole in the goalkeeper department.
Jordan Pickford will be the number one goalkeeper, without doubt, but the exits have opened up a spot as his number two.
As a result, Everton have shown an interest in John Victor. According to Fabrizio Romano, West Ham are looking to steal a march on the Toffees.
The Hammers have now lodged an opening bid for the Botafogo goalkeeper believed to be worth in the region of £7m.
Along with the Irons, Romano has confirmed interest landing from Everton, Galatasaray and Manchester United.
With two senior goalkeepers at Moyes’ disposal, the Friedkins are looking to create some serious competition.

Everton want competition for Mark Travers
On his debut for the club, Mark Travers received applause from Blackburn Rovers fans for a stunning save from a free kick.
However, the 26-year-old cost Everton on Wednesday against the Hammers – ironically.
The backup goalkeeper started the game in Chicago and failed to deal with a cross which resulted in an easy goal for the Hammers.
“He didn’t perform well tonight. He knows that. We know that,” said Moyes after the game.
Perhaps after the game against West Ham, Moyes will feel there needs to be some competition to get the best out of Travers.
