What Amadou Onana has already noticed about Aston Villa that’s so much better than at Everton

Everton have endured a miserable weekend in what was an opening day to forget in the final season at Goodison Park.

Sean Dyche‘s side were blown away by Brighton & Hove Albion in their first game with their new manager at the helm.

Of course, it is only the first of 38 games in the Premier League season, but Everton are now sitting rock bottom of the table having shipped three goals to the Seagulls.

And it was apparent after the game there was some tension between the Everton manager and the fans.

Dyche issued a very blunt response when asked about the Everton fans who left early in the game.

And to add insult to injury, Everton fans then had to watch Amadou Onana score within four minutes on his Aston Villa debut.

What Amadou Onana said about Everton after his Aston Villa debut

Having made the £50m move from Everton to Aston Villa, Onana took no time at all in finding the back of the net for his new side.

Unai Emery will be delighted with the start the Belgian has made and Jamie Redknapp has already said Onana looks happier at Villa than he did at Everton.

After the game, the midfielder admitted he’s noticed something about his new side which does not compare to what he saw at Goodison.

Villa got off to a winning start in a tricky fixture against West Ham United and Onana claimed the football on display by Villa is so much better than Everton’s.

“Definitely. No disrespect, it’s a different type of football, everyone has their type of football, but I think this suits me a little bit better,” Onana told NBC Sports when asked if Villa’s possession football was better to play in.

Not only have Everton fans seen their own manager hit out but now their former midfielder…

Everton face tough second game against Tottenham Hotspur

As if things could not get much more difficult, Everton will now be preparing for their trip to north London to face Tottenham Hotspur.

The only positive going into this game is Spurs do not play until Monday night so their turnaround will be much tighter than Everton’s.

However, the Toffees have not won any of their last seven against Spurs with their last win in the league coming away in N17 through a 1-0 victory in 2020.

With Ashley Young suspended and the duo of Seamus Coleman and Nathan Patterson injured, it is not going to be any easy task to keep Heung-min Son and co quiet.

But Dyche is going to require a reaction from his players after what was a dismal opening game.
