Carlos Alcaraz’s move to Everton ended up going right down to the wire on deadline day.
For many fans, the January window will have been a disappointing one with only the Argentine midfielder coming through the doors.
David Moyes wanted at least two signings in January to really equip him with some options for the remainder of the season.
It looks as if the 61-year-old is going to have his squad management put under real scrutiny with the Everton side holding numerous injuries.
Alcaraz has already promised Everton fans he’ll give everything whilst wearing the shirt.
But it seems as if there was a lot which needed the input of the Everton manager before the 22-year-old’s move could be signed off.

David Moyes was crucial to Everton signing Carlos Alcaraz
Despite Alcaraz landing in England on Saturday, the deal was not announced until after the 11 pm deadline with the Toffees submitting a deal sheet.
Considering it was the only deal which Everton were expecting to seal on Monday, it took a worryingly long amount of time to get over the line.
According to Team Talk, the obligation to buy in Alcaraz’s contract is something which took a while to finalise between the two sides.
Moyes signed off on an eight-game trigger in the midfielder’s contract in order to get a real look at him before Everton are binded to purchase him.
The deal was then officially sealed after midnight as it ticked into Tuesday morning.
Moyes’ role in securing Everton a deal which suited them was crucial as he demanded a decent timeframe that suited the Toffees.
The Friedkins wanted Everton to sign a midfielder, so they got one of their targets.
However, not adding another forward is something which could really come back to bite the club.

Carlos Alcaraz should start against Bournemouth on Saturday
The FA Cup clash on the weekend will provide Moyes with the perfect opportunity to offer Alcaraz his debut.
Everton’s focus has to be on remaining in the Premier League this season and the cup will potentially see Moyes make some changes.
James Garner really impressed against Leicester City, but the midfielder has only just returned from injury.
So, providing Garner a rest on the weekend could prove a smart move from Moyes.
Adding Alcaraz to the side may be a smart move from Everton as the 22-year-old already holds Premier League experience.
And bringing him into a game where the pressure may be slightly lifted could prove a smart decision from Moyes.
