Adam Aznou had to be really patient before finally making his Everton debut earlier this month.
After arriving from Bayern Munich in the summer, many expected Adam Aznou to be a key player for Everton this season.
But, David Moyes didn’t hand him a single minute in the first team until the FA Cup game against Sunderland.
Who would you play at left wing in place of the injured Jack Grealish? 🤔
The winger is reportedly facing THREE months out – do Everton need to sign a replacement?
Aznou really impressed in his debut, and he was actually deployed as a winger rather than his most favoured left-back role.
The 19-year-old has been speaking to Everton’s website about what Seamus Coleman has been telling him behind the scenes, which has really helped him to remain patient.

Adam Aznou reveals what Seamus Coleman has been telling him
Aznou has revealed that behind the scenes, Coleman has been mentoring him and helping him to remain patient despite barely playing.
“Actually, the day before a game, I spoke with Shay (Coleman),” the teenager shared.
“He has been telling me to be patient, to keep working, because the time and the chance will come, so I need to always be ready.
“Afterwards he told me I did that – I took my chance by making an impact (coming on as a substitute against Sunderland), so that made me really happy.
“I’m really thankful to him, and not just him but a lot of my teammates. They have been so good to me from the first day I arrived in the dressing room.”
Aznou has admitted he’s really happy at Everton as there is a nice family vibe around Finch Farm, so Coleman is certainly playing his role in setting that culture.
Adam Aznou could be first-choice next season
At the moment, Vitaliy Mykolenko is set to walk out of the club on a free transfer this summer as his contract is due to expire.
Mykolenko has been in talks to renew his deal, but that process has been going on since last summer and there’s been no word on whether progress has been made.
So, it looks as though Aznou could be in line to become the first-choice left-back next season if he continues to develop physically.
There’s no doubt he has the ability to be a Premier League footballer; Moyes just wants him to be solid defensively, too.
Aznou may well get some minutes off the left wing in Jack Grealish’s absence.
