Everton are in desperate need of some of some attacking reinforcement in the January transfer window.
Changes have been made by The Friedkin Group away from the pitch in their opening month on Merseyside.
However, Everton are still awaiting their first signing under the new ownership.
David Moyes has now returned to Goodison Park and will be looking to see improvements made to his squad with players like Dominic Calvert-Lewin receiving interest from abroad.
The 60-year-old will be going into his first game back at Everton with the same group of players which Sean Dyche left behind.
But work is being done to potentially add to the squad before the end of the window.

Everton have not contacted Leicester City over Tom Cannon
With attacking additions needed, Everton are eyeing a move for Lyon’s Ernest Nuamah to add a new winger to the club.
There have since been reports claiming Everton were looking to sign Tom Cannon from Leicester City to add to their striker department.
However, journalist Harry Watkinson has now suggested this is not to be the case.
“I’m now told by sources that Everton have NOT held talks with Leicester over re-signing Tom Cannon. Reports are wide of the mark,” he said on X.
“Championship is the most likely destination for former #EFC striker.”
This comes just hours after Leicester City recalled Cannon from his loan deal with Stoke City as it now seems he is set to make a permanent move.
Everton are looking to hand Beto another opportunity to impress under Moyes with their options slim due to injuries.
Everton may regret selling Cannon in 2023
Championship sides Sunderland and Sheffield United are said to be keen on landing the youngster.
Back in 2023, Everton sold Cannon to Leicester for £7m where he has since gone on to impress in the Championship.
| 2024/25 | Total |
|---|---|
| Appearances | 25 |
| Minutes | 2024 |
| Goals | 11 |
| Assists | 1 |
Cannon’s encouraging season may well leave those at Everton wondering why they sold the striker as they endure their own issues up front.
As well as receiving interest from abroad, Calvert-Lewin has been criticised for his poor showings this season which have returned just two goals.
With Everton’s defence standing strong, the Toffees’ main issue this season is finding the back of the net, with only Southampton returning less.
