Thomas Frank once appeared as Sean Dyche’s potential successor before David Moyes at Everton, but now a new job has come into the firing line.

Everton will be glad they made the choice to appoint Moyes, as it seemed like an easy decision for The Friedkin Group.

It paid off almost immediately with the Scotsman flourishing where Dyche couldn’t.

His managerial performance in the month of February won Moyes the manager of the month award.

Thomas Frank emerged as a candidate, but now he is set to appoint Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham, and that could spell trouble.

The Dane has done an excellent job with Brentford, and it exemplifies every reason why the Toffees had him on their list.

A month after the interest, Frank actually praised Moyes’ Everton as he can clearly see the job he’s done has been fantastic in the short amount of time.

Now, after Postecoglou’s sacking, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Spurs are looking to make Frank their new manager.

However, in terms of Everton’s long-standing interest in Richarlison returning, this doesn’t bode well for the Toffees.

What Frank has said about Everton target Richarlison

There has been so much talk about Richarlison returning to the club he loves in Everton.

It’s a deal which has been put in uncertainty, but with Moyes liking Richarlison, never say never.

Despite a disappointing tenure at Spurs, the Brazilian has still shown exactly what he’s about in his time there.

But even if this transfer saga did develop, Frank joining Spurs might provide a firm roadblock in the deal.

This is due to the Brentford manager’s comments in a post-match interview in 2023 about the 28-year-old, as the Dane appears to be a fan.

“It was England’s number nine, replaced by Brazil’s number nine,” Frank said.

“He’s a very good player, Richarlison, and I back him to score a lot of goals this season.”

Evertonians now might be worried about the Dane’s appointment, and after fans desperately wanted Frank to join Everton, they might now have a change of opinion on the potential future Spurs boss
