One of Everton’s top targets this month has been Lyon winger Ernest Nuamah.

Coming into the market, it was apparent what Everton needed with goals being the major issue for the Toffees this season.

David Moyes wants to see a new forward signed before the window closes next week with more injuries added over the weekend.

Attacking options are now extremely limited for Moyes who inherited a struggling group of players from Sean Dyche’s tenure.

But there is one player who Everton have shown an interest in, Ernest Nuamah.

Speaking to Everton News, TBR Football’s Chief Transfer Correspondent Graeme Bailey has provided the latest on the 21-year-old’s situation.

Everton still considering Ernest Nuamah move

Sources are claiming interest in Nuamah is still ongoing at Everton with a need for another attacking option to be added to Moyes’ squad.

It was suggested last week that Nuamah is likely to remain at Lyon as the window enters its final week.

But those at Goodison Park are not discounting the possibility of Nuamah joining before next week’s deadline.

Moyes has admitted Nuamah is a player of interest to Everton but there have been no major breakthroughs in their pursuit.

Everton are also assessing other options.

With the clock ticking, Everton need to find an answer for their newly-appointed manager who is expecting some signings to be made.

Nuamah scored for Lyon on the weekend

With the winger’s future still up in the air, he has remained a part of Lyon’s matchday squads both in the league and Europe.

The 21-year-old started on the weekend in Lyon’s game against Nantes and he opened the scoring.

A tidy finish from the Ghanaian forward with an even more impressive celebration.

Whether this will be enough to see the French outfit change their mind and push to keep Nuamah is yet to be seen.

But it certainly gave Everton a taste of what they could add to Moyes’ options.
