Everton have identified a number of transfer targets this month.

David Moyes has made it clear he needs signings but with just 13 days left of the window, Everton are yet to bring someone through the door.

Everton have been in talks to sign Ernest Nuamah but that deal appears to be off the table due to Lyon receiving a cash injection from elsewhere to help balance the books.

Galatasaray’s Baris Alper Yilmaz has also been linked to Goodison Park, but his signature will require a substantial amount of finances.

The Turkish giants are demanding bids of around £25m, so it remains to be seen if Everton can afford to make that deal.

The Toffees have also been keeping tabs on a talented centre-back in Spain and now the winner has been named in the race to sign him.

Manchester City set to beat Everton to Juma Bah

According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City are set to sign Real Valladolid centre-back Juma Bah.

Everton were in talks to sign Bah last month after his sensational breakout season in La Liga, where he established himself as one of the most promising centre-backs.

Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and Leicester City were all keeping tabs on his situation, too, but now the Premier League champions have stolen a march on his signature.

Romano reports that City have a verbal agreement with the Spanish outfit and Bah could be immediately shipped on loan to RC Lens.

Everton don’t need a centre-back

Missing out on Bah certainly isn’t detrimental to Everton and in fact, the links to the young centre-back seemed to have stemmed from the previous regime under Sean Dyche.

Moyes is much more focused on landing attacking targets, so perhaps they pulled out of the race following his appointment, anyway.

The Toffees are well stocked in that area with Jarrad Branthwaite, James Tarkowski, Jake O’Brien and Michael Keane.
