At Everton January transfer plans are likely to be determined by financial difficulty and now light has been shed on plans.

After a 10-point deduction was slapped onto Everton earlier in this campaign, it was never going to be a free-spending January for Everton.

Sean Dyche‘s side is in desperate need of some reinforcements as recent form has shown a sharp decline from the players.

We reported last month that the Goodison Park side was likely to have some wiggle room in this window, allowing for some budget deals and loans to be on the table.

This sentiment has now been reinforced by Sky Sports journalist Alan Myers who’s shared a hint on Everton’s potential January moves.

Alan Myers drops Everton transfer hint

Writing on X, Myers was answering fan questions on Everton’s transfer window.

Here he dropped his verdict on what fans can expect Everton to do in January with some transfer moves expected.

“It’s possible something will happen, don’t see any money signings but certainly loans, free’s a possibility and depending if anyone goes out”.

This news comes as no surprise given the fact that the club will be extremely cautious to remain away from breaching Premier League financial rules again.

But, interestingly he mentions that it also depends on if anyone departs the club. This could be where Amadou Onana comes in as it’s recently been reported he’s a one who could be leaving.

Despite the clear limitations at Goodison Park financially, rumours are already swirling around potential January arrivals.

The club seem to be prioritising the wing positions with several names linked, all of which cost different levels of money.

Jesse Lingard is available for free, with Everton considering handing him a short-term deal which could have him see the season out at Goodison Park.

Another name is Leicester City’s talented winger Kasey McAteer who the Toffees are believed to admire.

Shockingly, Liverpool forward Fabio Carvalho is also being linked, albeit the rivalry between the clubs will make this unlikely even on loan.

Meanwhile, Marseille man Illiman Ndiaye has also found himself linked with a Finch Farm move.
