Malick Fofana could be Everton’s next signing through the door after Adam Aznou, as the Toffees look to strengthen their ranks for the upcoming season.
With David Moyes needing clear improvements to his squad, Everton bid £31m for Lyon winger Fofana, building on their recent activity in the market.
The 20-year-old looks very promising and could be an integral part of the squad next season, especially with Thierno Barry needing some creative sparks around him.
Liverpool were in talks with Fofana, but the Belgian now seems to be at the forefront of the Toffees’ plans for this season.
With a decision still to be made, The Friedkin Group are finally getting into gear this window as an ambitious plan has been laid out for Everton beyond the one new winger.

The Friedkin Group want another winger for Everton after Malick Fofana
With plans for Fofana to arrive at the Hill Dickinson Stadium in the coming weeks, it appears he won’t be the only winger arriving on Merseyside this summer.
Journalist Paul Joyce has suggested that Everton will not only be targeting the Lyon star, but the recruitment team also want to sign another winger, as an attacking overhaul is being prepared.
Finally, The Friedkins’ ambition is being shown after a quiet start to the window, with Moyes demanding more signings from the new owners.
After a torrid start to pre-season, adding two wingers is desperately needed ahead of the Premier League campaign.
While Fofana is now expected to be one of those, another option who has been recurring in Everton’s transfer plans is West Brom star Tom Fellows.
Moyes has been desperate to sign Fellows after the 22-year-old proved he’s a level above the Championship, and it’s clear he should be the next move following Fofana.

Everton should go all in for Fellows after Fofana
With Fofana looking like the priority for the wing, Moyes clearly wants more depth, and Fellows is the perfect option to rely upon.
The England youth international has shown quality in the second tier, proving his excellence and exemplifying why he deserves a move to the Premier League.
| Tom Fellows’ Championship statistics in 2024/25 season | |
| Games played | 45 |
| Goal involvements | 18 (4G+14A) |
| Cross accuracy % | 31.2% |
| Chances created | 62 |
| Successful crosses per 90 | 1.25 |
This fits into the criteria for this summer as well, with Moyes wanting Championship players, as Hayden Hackney is another option for Everton from the second tier.
Fellows provides something different to Fofana, because while the Belgian is a tricky dribbler, the West Brom star could give Everton a more direct approach with crossing, which benefits both Beto and Barry in the box.
Everton are ‘stepping up’ interest in Fellows, and this would be the likely candidate Moyes goes after, following the potential transfer of Fofana.
