Everton are now closing in on their first signing of the winter market.
David Moyes has been made to wait patiently to see any business done but the Toffees are now edging closer to signing number one.
Everton face a really important game on Saturday against Leicester City in what will be viewed as a relegation six-pointer.
But they will be doing so with a number of injury issues with midfielder Orel Mangala now out for the season.
Adding to the squad has been important from the start of the window, but even more so recently in light of the injuries sustained.
And the Toffees are now edging nearer to seeing their first piece of business over the line.

Carlos Alcaraz set to sign for Everton
On Friday evening, it was suggested Everton had agreed a deal to sign Carlos Alcaraz from Flamengo.
The deal in question is said to be an initial loan move with the option to buy, which could become an obligation if certain targets are met.
And the former Southampton midfielder is now set to fly into England to complete his return to the Premier League on Saturday.
That is according to journalist Ben Jacobs who has claimed the terms between the two clubs have now been finalised.
Alcaraz now needs to make his way to Merseyside where he will undergo his medical ahead of the proposed move.
The Friedkins entered January keen to sign a midfielder and it looks as if they are set to do exactly that.
Even without the injury to Mangala, Moyes would have been hoping to see a fresh face come through the door, so this will be a boost for the 60-year-old.

Everton adding competition with Alcaraz signing
Seeing Mangala go down on the weekend left Moyes with a bit of a headache as to who he is going to replace the Belgian with.
James Garner and Tim Iroegbunam have returned from injury but neither of the midfielders hold any match fitness.
But the 60-year-old will now have a player he may feel is ready to slot into the role having already gained Premier League experience.

During his time at the club, Russell Martin praised Alcaraz as ‘amazing’ in a 2023 press conference.
But this signing cannot deflect away from Everton needing to sign another striker with the Toffees also hindered by injuries up top.
