Everton have had some terrible injury luck this season and there was even more over the weekend.
David Moyes has done a fine job since making his return to Goodison Park three weeks ago, but it has not been straightforward.
The Friedkins still aim to back Moyes in the transfer market but they are running out of time to do so.
Everton lost Orel Mangala to a season-ending injury on the weekend, but the wait for their first January signing goes on.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin also suffered a serious injury, which has left their striker options extremely limited.
One of the strikers on Everton’s January radar has now reacted to some of the injury news coming out of Merseyside.

Taiwo Awoniyi reacts to Orel Mangala’s Everton injury
Everton are considering Taiwo Awoniyi as a striker target over these final days of the transfer window.
Moyes only has Beto as a senior option to choose from up top for Saturday’s game against Leicester City.
In recent hours, Mangala issued a message on social media about his season-ending injury.
The Instagram post saw a number of players share their support and the Everton striker target was one of them.
Alongside the likes of Jesper Lindstrom and Romelu Lukaku, Awoniyi replied to Mangala with two heart emojis and two praying emojis.
The pair have the connection through their time together at the City Ground.

Nottingham Forest would sell Awoniyi to Everton before the deadline as he has failed to make an impact this season.
However, it is not just a striker which the Friedkins will be eyeing over these coming days.
Everton need to pull out the stops in the transfer window
The Friedkins targeted two new signings at the very start of the transfer winfow.
It has proven a difficult window for the Toffees to operate in and they’ve been left going into the final four days still searching for their first signing.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 16 | 22 | 5 | 8 | 9 | 19 | 28 | -9 | 23 |
Moyes may well have been able to drag Everton seven-points clear of the drop, but a defeat to Leicester on the weekend would pull them straight back into the fight.
And without any new signings and a list of injury issues, that could well flip the positive mood around Goodison right on its head.
