Everton could decide West Ham manager Graham Potter’s fate on Monday evening with their clash on Monday evening.

The Toffees come into the game on the back of two frustrating defeats across the Premier League and Carabao Cup.

David Moyes received a lot of criticism at Everton for his team selection on Tuesday night for the League Cup game against Wolves.

Three points for Everton on Monday night will be crucial to restore some faith in the side following three games across all competitions without a win.

Coming up against his former club, Moyes will be facing a side who currently only have three points to their name on the board.

Paul Merson expects Everton to beat West Ham and compile the misery on the Hammers, and Chris Sutton has now shared his own prediction.

Chris Sutton shares his Everton vs West Ham prediction

Jack Grealish stole the show in the Merseyside Derby last weekend, and he will be expected to return to the side on Monday.

The Manchester City loanee was rested on Tuesday evening for the game at Molineux, but was brought on for the final 30 minutes.

Everton remain unbeaten at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, but speaking to BBC Sport, Chris Sutton has heard something he is not overly sure on just yet about the new stadium.

“The irony here is that a win for former West Ham boss David Moyes, who their fans wanted to get rid of, could end Graham Potter’s time in charge of the Hammers,” said Sutton.

“It’s hard to see any other outcome, to be honest. Everton are still short of a goalscoring striker but they have stacks of creativity and should have more than enough chances.

“My 606 co-host Roman Kemp described the Hill Dickinson Stadium as a fortress last week. I feel like he went a bit early there, but they should still be too strong for West Ham – I am not sure the Hammers have the stomach for a fight.”

The Hill Dickinson Stadium has been a financial game changer for Everton, and the early form on the pitch has been positive.

Had Everton turned their draw against Aston Villa into three points, perhaps Sutton would think otherwise.

A win on Monday could help to convince Sutton.

Everton must get back to winning ways against West Ham

It has been a positive start to the season for Everton, but the last week has certainly put the brakes on some early optimism.

Moyes has not been overly impressed by Everton’s strikers this season, with neither Beto or Thierno Barry showing much to be admired.

Finding the back of the net consistently has been the biggest issue for the Blues.

Grealish changed the game against Wolves on Tuesday, which will offer fans some hope of getting back to winning ways against the Hammers.

This is a West Ham side who have already conceded 13 goals in the league this season. There are simply no excuses for Everton on Monday evening.
